The William Floyd Board of Education recently held its annual reorganization meeting for the 2024-25 school year, in which the newly re-elected Board of Education trustees, Jennifer Heitman and Kevin Meyer, took the oath of office for new three-year terms.

The Board of Education also appointed the slate of officers for the 2024-2025 school year, they are: April Coppola, President, Board of Education; Robert Taiani, Vice President, Board of Education; Kevin M. Coster, Superintendent of Schools; Carolyn Visintin, District Clerk; Michelle Romanosky, District Treasurer; and Mary Sidaras, Deputy District Treasurer.

Additionally, the Board of Education adopted its meeting dates for the 2024-2025 academic year. All meetings will be held in the William Floyd High School Jeananne Dawson Memorial Library, 240 Mastic Beach Road, Mastic Beach, with public session beginning at 7 pm (unless otherwise noted).

The Board meeting dates are: August 13 and August 21 with both beginning at 6:30 pm. Board of Education meetings during the school year will begin at 7 pm, including: September 10; October 1 and October 29; November 19; December 10; January 14; February 11 (Budget Advisory meeting at 6:30 pm/Regular BOE meeting at 7 pm); March 4 and March 18 (Budget Advisory meeting at 6:30 pm/Regular BOE meeting at 7 pm); April 23 (Budget Advisory at 6:30 pm & Budget Adoption/BOE meeting at 7 pm); May 13 (Budget Advisory meeting-Budget Hearing at 6:30 pm/Regular BOE meeting at 7 pm); and June 3 and June 17. The annual Budget Vote and Election will be held on May 20, 2025.
