The William Floyd School District Fine Arts Department recently hosted their annual Districtwide Art Show in the south lobby of William Floyd High School! The event, which coincides with the beginning of March and the celebration of Youth Art & Music Month, featured gorgeous displays of artwork from William Floyd students across all grade levels. Families and community members were welcomed by the Fine Arts Department to come explore the gallery and celebrate the talented student-artists whose work was on display. Members of the National Art Honor Society hosted the event and helped serve refreshments while also running several craft activities and a face painting station for the younger children in attendance.

“The ‘Districtwide Art Show’ has become a beloved evening for the Art Department, students and families,” said Theresa Bianco, chairperson, Fine Arts, William Floyd School District. “We wanted to give our students an opportunity to share their artwork and be able to discuss with the community what they created, and that is something to be very proud of.”
Mrs. Bianco also expressed how “incredibly talented and thought-provoking” the student-artists can be and noted the educational value of their participation. “They gain an understanding of how the art skills they learn in elementary [and middle] school carries into their high school career,” she said.
