The William Floyd varsity gymnastics team completed an amazing regular season with a 9-1 overall record and a second-place finish in League I. With this performance, the Colonials qualified for the team county championships for the third consecutive year and will look to avenge their only loss of the season against Smithtown. The Section XI team championships take place today, Monday, November 10, at 4 pm at Hauppauge High School. Section XI charges admission for the county championship. The cost is $9.40 per ticket ($8 plus $1.40 service fee). Children 12 and under are free. Click here to purchase tickets (your phone acts as your ticket). The varsity gymnastics roster includes head coach Rich Daly, assistant coach Lindsay Kulik and William Floyd student-athletes: seniors Katelyn Perillo and Olivia Rodriguez, junior Avery Morano, sophomore Adrianna McCook, ninth graders Ava Alese and Mackenzie Lauro, eighth grader Sophia Colon (Paca) and seventh grader Natiese Lemons (WFMS).

They’re joined by Julia Cebul, Isabella Manfredonia, Yosra Messoudi, Sophie Murphy, Michela Nobre, Adriana Pabon, Gia Politi, Shayna Selnick, Breanna Thomas and Alyssa Wood, student-athletes from Eastport-South Manor, Longwood, Shoreham-Wading River and Miller Place.

The team has stepped up in the absence of some key members who have been sidelined with injury to achieve great success. “All of the girls - who got us to this point in the season with all the success we have had - are ready to go,” said Coach Daly. “This is the strongest team we have had in school history and hopefully our girls can show Suffolk County that.”

Good luck, Colonials!
