students participate in robotics LEGO League qualifier

On Saturday, February 7, William Floyd High School will be hosting two FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics LEGO League Qualifiers! Robotics combines the excitement of sports with the rigors of science and technology.

This year’s game is UNEARTHED presented by Haas, a competition in which teams will use engineering skills to reimagine the past using STEM skills and teamwork to dig deeper into discoveries. All eight district robotics teams from the elementary, middle and high school levels will be on hand either to compete or in the high school team’s case, assist the younger students as mentors.

The district is honored to be selected to host these special events again! FIRST is also seeking volunteers (ages 13+) for Qualifier #3, Qualifier #6 or both to help out! Community service hours are available. Click the links to register and sign up today!
