Seven William Floyd High School student-artists recently had their work selected for publication in the Spring 2019 edition of Celebrating Art, an anthology published by an organization of the same name that is focused on the promotion and appreciation of today’s student artists. Top entries from across the nation are selected for publication in the book as a way to record and highlight student creativity and talent with less than 30 percent of all entries making the book. The students selected for this honor are Nicole Bolotova, Alexis Cannet, Daniella Farrauto, Mya Hutchins, Giana Linsalata, Marwa Raza and Makenna Savnik. All were students in William Floyd High School art teacher Erika Licausi’s class. The artwork was submitted for consideration during the previous school year.

“Seeing all of the entries that were submitted chosen to be published was an incredibly proud moment,” said Ms. Licausi. “I witnessed the hard work, dedication and time the students poured into their work. When they saw their work in this beautiful book, selected from countless entries, it created a great sense of confidence and accomplishment due to their efforts being recognized.”
