photo of seniors at their former elementary school - Tangier Smith

On Thursday, June 23, approximately 200 members of the William Floyd High School Class of 2022 participated in a “Walk Down Memory Lane,” an annual tradition dating back to 2017 that gives the opportunity to seniors, decked out in their caps and gowns, to go back to where it all began for them at William Floyd – their former elementary schools.

This elementary walkthrough event is designed to inspire current elementary students on to great things in their academic careers, as well as to provide the graduating seniors the chance to visit their former teachers, teaching assistants and principals. With “Pomp and Circumstance” playing on each school’s public address system and elementary students lining the halls of each school with signs, smiles and cheers, the soon-to-be alumni were congratulated for their accomplishments and wished well on the next chapter of their lives.
