The William Floyd High School cheerleading team, the William Floyd High School Rockettes and the varsity football team recently collaborated on a food drive to help fill the local food pantry in time for the Thanksgiving holiday! They worked together to get the word out for those attending the first playoff game this season, and requested that attendees donate a non-perishable food item. In total, the drive netted three large boxes of donations that has been donated to the St. Jude’s Outreach Office Food Pantry in Mastic Beach.
Additionally, the cheerleading team raised $2,032 in their annual “Cheer for a Cure” fundraiser during the month October to benefit breast cancer research and awareness!
The cheerleading team and the Rockettes continue to work hard to cheer on the teams throughout their season, putting together tremendous performances that help to energize the Colonial crowd.
Great job by the cheerleaders, led by head coach Danielle Nevins, and Rockettes led by advisor Lisa Taiani, on their community service and amazing performances week in and week out!
