Please note that this one-week change affects William Floyd High School and Floyd Academy students only!
As a result of the New York State Education Department canceling the January Regents exams due to the pandemic, the week of January 25-29, 2021, will serve as a regular week of classes at William Floyd High School and the Floyd Academy. Additionally, the virtual day for this week and at these two schools ONLY will be changed to Tuesday, January 26, due to the administration of the PSAT exam.
On Tuesday, January 26, 2021, the high school will administer the PSAT exam for up to 300 10th- and 11th-grade grade students. Enrollment for the PSAT will be handled through the high school main office. The deadline to sign up is Tuesday, January 19, 2021, but spots will fill up quickly and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Additional information regarding the PSAT:
- The exam is scheduled for Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 7:30 am;
- 10th- and 11th-grade students interested in taking the PSAT should reach out to the main office as soon as possible as the deadline to register is Tuesday, January 19, 2021 (registration is on a first-come, first served basis).
- Students will need to arrange for their own transportation;
- Due to the district’s participation in the USDA Community Eligibility Provision program, the $17 cost of the exam can be waived for 11th-grade students. Tenth-grade students can also take the exam for the $17 fee.
Again, please note that switching the virtual day is for William Floyd High School and the Floyd Academy ONLY and for the week of January 25-29 ONLY. This change DOES NOT affect any elementary or middle schools. Additionally, this change DOES NOT affect any high school students in self-contained classes, who will continue to attend school five days per week.
