The William Floyd High School Counseling Center recently hosted the first of four on-site admissions events of the school year. On-site admissions events provide students with the opportunity to meet with admissions representatives in their own school and discuss future goals and what each institution has to offer. Students can also get their transcripts evaluated, discuss potential scholarships and even, in some instances, receive immediate acceptance!
At this event, students met with representatives from 12 colleges and universities including St. Joseph’s University, Hunter Business School, Pace University, Long Island University, Iona University, Molloy University, SUNY Old Westbury, SUNY Farmingdale, SUNY Delhi, Mount Saint Mary, Suffolk County Community College and Eastern Suffolk BOCES.
In total, 191 students met with college representatives and have offered $620,000 in scholarships with more to be determined!
The second on-site admissions event is scheduled for Thursday, December 12, 2024 and will feature Suffolk Community College only. The third event is scheduled for February 6, 2025 and will be a much larger event in which representatives from regional colleges, universities and trade schools will be on hand to meet with students. The fourth and final on-site admissions day is scheduled for April 24, 2025 and will feature Suffolk County Community College only.
