Daren Dash, a member of the William Floyd High School Class of 2023, was recently selected to receive the Suffolk County Police Department’s Asian Jade Society scholarship worth $307,092! The this scholarship will cover the costs of Daren’s college education, while preparing him to become a future Army Reserve officer!

Daren plans on attending St. John’s University to study business marketing and hopes to one day become a sports agent. While at St. John’s, he will be required to participate in the Army Reserve’s monthly drills and annual training exercises.

At the ceremony, Daren received proclamations from various officials including the civilian aide to the secretary of the Army, congressional and NYS recognition, as well as local townships.

At William Floyd, Daren was a member of the Business Honor Society, serving as its treasurer, and was a member of the varsity lacrosse team. He also received the Boys Varsity Lacrosse Booster Club Scholarship and a merit scholarship from St. John’s University.
