Twelve student-scholars from William Floyd High School are set to be honored for their outstanding academic achievements by the Town of Brookhaven Hispanic Advisory Board! Students were selected for maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 97 or higher! They will be recognized at the Town of Brookhaven’s 12th annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration on Friday, October 10 at Brookhaven Town Hall. At the celebration, they’ll get to enjoy cultural music and food in addition to meeting other gifted student-scholars from school districts within the Town of Brookhaven.

The Brookhaven Town Hispanic Advisory Board was established in 2013 to help improve cultural understanding between the Hispanic community, civic and business leaders, Brookhaven government and town residents. The mission of the Hispanic Advisory Board is to discuss and address issues of importance and relevance to the Hispanic community and make recommendations regarding proposed legislation to the Brookhaven Town Board.
