Veronica-Sky, who made history last year as the first girls’ wrestler in school history to win a county championship and qualify for the state tournament, just recently won her second consecutive county championship to earn a return trip to states. Competing in the 145 lb. weight class, Veronica-Sky is expected to rank as one of the top seeds within the tournament. Her other accomplishments this season include finishing in third place at the 2026 Eastern States Classic and being ranked as a top-four girls’ wrestler in New York State!

On the boys’ side, there were a total of 13 wrestlers who competed in the county championship tournament at Stony Brook University. After two days of intense competition, William Floyd produced four all-county wrestlers, two state qualifiers and a county champion in addition to finishing in sixth place as a team, the highest finishing position among League I competition!
