students dressed like pirates

Mrs. Unger's second-grade class at Tangier Smith Elementary School donned their pirate garb for "International Talk Like a Pirate Day."

Shiver me timbers! On Monday, September 19, second-grade buccaneers in Mrs. McGovern, Mrs. Wingler, Mrs. Unger, Mrs. McCoy, Mrs. Romero and Mrs. Worontsoff’s classes at Tangier Smith Elementary School participated in “International Talk Like a Pirate Day,” an annual parodic holiday in which people are encouraged to talk like pirates! Students enjoyed a fun pirate-themed day, created their own pirate names using coding programs, designed their own pirate hats and enjoyed Pirate’s Booty snacks!
