students by a PSEG truck

Earlier this school year, Tangier Smith Elementary School third-grade students had the opportunity to meet with representatives from PSEG Long Island as part of the Safety Sleuth initiative, an interactive program designed to educate students about the importance of electrical safety and the important role that lineworkers have in keeping society running on a day-to-day basis.

PSEG workers shared the ins-and-outs of safety procedures and equipment that they use, and spoke about how they help to deliver and restore power to homes each and every day. Students also learned about what to do if they ever come across a downed wire. Students then participated in a question-and-answer session and enjoyed seeing the PSEG truck up close and in action!
