Tangier Smith Elementary School students pictured wearing college shirts during College Awareness Week raised $600 in the "Dollars for Scholars" fundraiser, which was matched by Adventureland's The Helping Hands Foundation, bringing the total to $1,200 for a deserving senior.
Tangier Smith Elementary School recently hosted their annual “Dollars for Scholars” fundraiser to provide a college scholarship to a graduating senior who previously attended Tangier Smith Elementary School! This year, students raised $600, which will be matched dollar-for-dollar by The Helping Hands Foundation, the non-profit branch of Adventureland, bringing the total award to $1,200!
Spearheaded by the fifth-grade student council, this annual event culminated with a celebratory walk around the school during College Awareness Week! Students also participated in various college-themed activities including wearing the attire of their favorite college or university!
