UPDATED: March 26, 2020 at 6:40 pm

School meal bus delivery will continue on Friday, March 27 beginning at 10 am! Routes have been slightly adjusted and stop numbers have been added. Please see below for updated links. Additionally, please remember to account for approximately three minutes at each stop. You can estimate your stop by multiplying the number by 3. Example, if you are stop #10, then your bus should arrive at approximately 10:30 am; if you are stop #20, then your bus should arrive at 11 am; and if your stop is #30, your bus should arrive by 11:30 am, etc. Please also give some leeway on each side of the estimate as this is not an exact science. Thanks for your patience!

If you are not sure which catchment area you are in, you can find your location on the School Zone Map linked here.

The answers to some frequently asked questions are:

  • This is for all children in the community regardless of age.
  • This is not only just for elementary school students – it is open to students from birth up to anyone still enrolled in William Floyd schools.
  • Elementary catchment areas include all elementary, middle and high school students.
  • You do NOT need to sign up.
  • Bus drivers have been instructed to give food to all students or parents/guardians who ask.
  • If your child takes a minibus or your stop is not listed, please consult the School Zone Map for your catchment area and look for the spot closest to you, and wait at that stop.
  • Remember to give at least 3 minutes per stop to estimate the time of arrival.
  • All meals have the same menu items (breakfast and lunch are different).

The William Floyd School District is working hard to keep the meals coming to students within our community! Beginning on Wednesday, March 25, “Grab & Go” school meals containing breakfast and lunch will be available for students waiting at their regular bus stops throughout the community. This new “Grab & Go” bus delivery will continue on weekday mornings throughout this crisis. Please see below for details.

“We hope that this meal delivery will help take some stress off of our families during this difficult time,” said Kevin Coster, superintendent of schools. “We will continue to do all that we can to be there for the community.”

Bus stop meal delivery to the community is made possible through William Floyd’s partnership with Aramark Food Services and First Student Transportation, the district’s food and large bus transportation service providers, respectively.

How to Get Meals

  • Students and/or families should go to their regular bus stop to receive meal deliveries (see bus stops linked below). (Younger students should be accompanied by an adult).
  • Please account for approximately 3-5 minutes for each stop; bus drivers will wait a few minutes at each location to give time for families to come out.
  • Bus stops are listed in order in the links below and you can estimate the approximate time of delivery by counting the stops and multiplying by three.
  • Deliveries will begin at 10 am with the first stop listed at the top of each individual bus list (Bus 1, Bus 2, Bus 3, etc.) Again, please allow approximately 3-5 minutes for each stop (estimated). So if your stop is Bus 1 in your catchment zone, then you should be at the stop at 10 am. If your stop is the 10th spot, then give at least 30 minutes before heading to the stop (but keep looking out the window just in case!)
  • Please remember to practice social distancing at each bus stop with others who may be waiting for bus meal delivery.

Current Meal Pick-up Locations
Meals will also continue to be available at three locations where they are currently offered until further notice. Those locations are the William Floyd High School south parking lot near the tennis courts, the Mastic Firehouse at 1080 Mastic Road, and the Mastic Beach Property Owners Association at 31 Neighborhood Road.

This will be the first time attempting this, so we thank you in advance for your patience.

Drivers have been instructed to provide food to anyone who asks! If they do not, please email transportation@wfsd.k12.ny.us
