Nathaniel Woodhull Elementary School students in Ms. Ashley Kilanowski’s second-grade class recently learned about careers and imagined what their future careers could be as part of the celebration of College & Career Week! Students began the week learning about community helpers, having classroom discussions on how they serve the local community and the tools they use to help them in their roles. After this discussion, students sorted through different kinds of careers and determined whether or not they’d be interested in trying that career in the future.

Out of the careers they were interested in, each student picked one dream job and did additional research to learn everything that they could about that job. Then, they used an AI image generator to see what they would look like while working in their dream job! They wrapped up the activity by creating mock job applications in which they explained why they’d be an ideal fit for the job they chose.

The activity served as a fun and engaging way to connect classroom learning to the students’ real-life dreams and goals!
