Woodhull Title I Compact 

The faculty and staff at the Nathaniel Woodhull Elementary School believe that when the school community and the parents and families of our students work together and actively participate in the educational process, student achievement will improve.  Parents are expected to be active participants in their children’s education.

The Nathaniel Woodhull Elementary School and parents working cooperatively to provide for the successful education of children agree:

The School agrees to:

 

  1. Provide high quality curriculum and instruction to all students.

  1. Hold Parent-Teacher conferences (two times per year) and discuss this compact as it relates to the child’s academic achievement.  Inform parents of school programs and their rights to be involved in their child’s education through a variety of mediums.

The Student Agrees To:

 

We, as students, will share the responsibility to improve our academic achievement.  Specifically, we will:

 

·         Attend school regularly.

·         Read every night:

o   K-2nd Grade: Read 15-30 minutes every night with my parent or guardian.

o   3rd-5th Grade: Read at least 30 minutes every night independently.

·         Do our homework and ask for help when needed.

·         Come to school prepared every day with the necessary materials and prepared to work.

·         Complete all assignments to the best of our ability.

·         Believe that we can learn.

·         Talk to our parents about what we have learned in school.

·         Will respect teachers, staff, other students and myself.
