Moriches Elementary School fourth- and fifth-grade students had the opportunity to return to Stony Brook University to sing the “The Star-Spangled Banner” before the Seawolves battled the Elon University Phoenix to a 62-58 victory on Sunday, March 1!

This event, featuring students from Jessica Salaway’s fifth-grade chorus, and Zachary Carrillo’s fourth-grade chorus, has become an annual tradition to support the fifth-grade end-of-the-year field trip to New York City to see a Broadway play! This year, they will be seeing Wicked, a prequel to the classic movie The Wizard of Oz.

In addition to having the honor of singing the National Anthem before the game, students had the opportunity to meet and greet the women’s basketball players before the game and at halftime in the fan tunnel, and dance along to “Cotton Eye Joe” on the court!

The fifth-grade class would like to thank all who participated and came down to support the Moriches Elementary School students and the Seawolves! Special thanks to Stony Brook University for their support of William Floyd students and congratulations to the Moriches Elementary School 4th and 5th grade chorus on a job well done!

Please see photos from the game and also a Moriches Elementary School visit from "Wolfie" the Seawolf in the album below!
