William Floyd Elementary School social workers Ms. Gulli and Ms. Cleary with fourth- and fifth-grade student council members.

William Floyd Elementary School is spending the month of November spreading kindness throughout their school community by pledging to participate in acts of kindness toward others! At the end of last month, each student received a “Kindness Calendar” detailing ideas for 30 random acts of kindness – one to complete each day. Then on Friday November 12, students celebrated “World Kindness Day” by reading a book about kindness in their classes. Students and staff members were then encouraged to write or draw one way to show kindness on a heart for display. Social workers Ms. Heather Cleary and Ms. Carissa Gulli then combined all the hearts to create a beautifully bloomed Kindness Tree for members of their school community to see each day! The theme for this kindness event is “A world of kindness starts in our hearts.”
