About the USDA Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) free school meal program
This program is a non-pricing meal service option for schools and school districts in economically-disadvantaged communities. Participating districts, like William Floyd, are able to provide one free breakfast and one free lunch each day of the school year at no cost to all students regardless of family income level. CEP is federally subsidized by the USDA. This is not part of the pandemic-era free meal program that is coming to an end, as reported on the news. The William Floyd School District has been enrolled in CEP since the 2019-2020 school year.
