photo from the 2022 graduation ceremony

On Saturday, June 25, William Floyd High School held its 63rd commencement ceremony to celebrate the nearly 700 students who completed the requirements for graduation and became William Floyd's newest alumni! Family and friends gathered together on this glorious morning to watch their loved ones walk across the stage and receive their high school diplomas! The event was also simultaneously livestreamed for those who could not be in attendance (video below).

The ceremony kicked off with the Presentation of Colors by the William Floyd High School NJROTC under the leadership Commander Christian Gaskill (USN/Ret.) and Chief Petty Officer Tao Chen (USN/Ret.), followed by a beautiful rendition of Francis Scott Key's "The Star Spangled Banner" as sung by the graduating seniors of the William Floyd High School Chorus (under the direction of Barbara D'Orio).

Commencement speakers included valedictorian Ian Hua and salutatorian Adam Schultzer, along with Board of Education President April Coppola who recognized the students who have enlisted in the Armed Forces, Superintendent of Schools Kevin M. Coster, WFHS Principal Philip Scotto and Floyd Academy Principal John DeBenedetto.

Special thanks to the Mastic and Mastic Beach fire departments for once again bringing their trucks and flying the American flag behind the stage!

Congratulations to all members of the William Floyd Class of 2022! Best wishes in all of your future endeavors!
