The Forum of Indian Women on Long Island recently donated more than $5,000 worth of school supplies to benefit the William Floyd School District’s displaced or homeless student population.

“The Forum of Indian Women on Long Island’s care and generosity for those in need is truly admirable and greatly appreciated,” said Kevin M. Coster, superintendent of schools, William Floyd School District. “We are thankful for community-minded organizations such as the Forum of Indian Women on Long Island who go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of students who are experiencing the trauma of displacement.”

Altogether, the Forum of Indian Women on Long Island’s generous donation included: 63 Case-its, 48 two-inch binders, 496 composition books, 158 packets of paper, 72 scissors, 400 highlighters, 50 packet dividers, 300 two-pocket folders, 200 boxes of crayons, 360 large glue sticks, 432 pens, 100 pencil pouches, 1,728 pencils, 216 post it pads, 432 dry erase markers, 288 pink erasers and a box of sharpies. All of these supplies will be provided directly to students who are experiencing homelessness or are temporarily displaced.
