Floyd Academy students on a Zoom with NFL player

Floyd Academy students speak with Eli Riley on a Zoom call.

Floyd Academy students in Anthony Wolf’s “Math for the College Bound” class recently participated in a Zoom call with Eli Riley, a cornerback with the Philadelphia Eagles professional football team.

Eli, a Long Island native who attended college at West Point and played for the Army football team, spoke to students about some of his experiences and the challenges that he has faced in high school, at West Point and in the pros. Eli stressed the importance of keeping a positive mindset in overcoming challenges and the importance of being a well-rounded person in life.

"The purpose of this Zoom was to help inspire the students and demonstrate that they can let their dreams help drive them through the challenges that life presents,” said John DeBenedetto, principal, Floyd Academy. “Their determination and willingness to succeed will help them achieve their goals.”
