The Floyd Academy recently hosted their annual mid-year graduation ceremony to recognize the 22 students who completed the requirements needed to earn their high school diploma and officially become the first members of the Class of 2026! This year’s group of January graduates is also the largest group of mid-year graduates in Floyd Academy history. The graduates were joined by family, friends, faculty, staff, administration, members of the Board of Education, and mentorship partners from Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Long Island and Stony Brook University to celebrate their hard work and achievements.

“We are extremely proud of you and are happy to share this moment with you,” said John DeBenedetto, principal, Floyd Academy. “On behalf of the faculty and staff of Floyd Academy and the William Floyd School District, I wish for each of you, a life that will be richer and more rewarding beyond your wildest dreams.”

Mr. DeBenedetto also shared personal highlights about each graduate and detailed their post-graduation plans and aspirations. Many of this year’s graduates plan to enlist in the military, enter the workforce or enroll in a college or a trade school this fall to study subjects such as architecture, criminal justice, education, ultrasound tech, nursing, medical assisting, HVAC, psychology and more.
