Help shape the future of our community by participating in the 2020 Census!

Beginning in March 2020, homes in the United States will receive invitations to participate in the 2020 Census; and, by April 1, 2020, all homes will have been contacted. This is an opportunity to help shape the future of the community by responding to the Census and ensuring it gets its fair share of more than $675 billion in federal funding. Responses can be submitted online, by phone or mail in a choice of 13 languages. Please consider participating.

What is the Census?
The Census, held every 10 years, is a count of all people living in the United States. It is mandated by the United States Constitution and conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau, a non-partisan government agency. The 2020 Census will count the population in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories (Puerto Rico, American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands). Each home will receive an invitation to respond to a short questionnaire -- online, by phone or by mail.

What is the the data used for?
Census data drives decisions on federal funds to states and communities for services such as health care facilities, roads, transportation, fire departments, social services, school programs and much more. The Census also determines the number of seats that each state will have in the United States House of Representatives.

This is your opportunity to help shape the future of our community!
