The August 2024 administration of the Earth Science Regents Exam is quickly approaching. In addition to the written portion of the exam, there is a REQUIRED hands-on performance component that must be completed before the written exam.  

The Performance Test is a hands-on laboratory practical that involves each student performing a series of laboratory activities. Each activity will be timed and will demonstrate the students’ ability to perform certain tasks that they have learned throughout their course of study in Earth Science. The Performance Test comprises 15 percent of each student’s final Regents exam grade.  

It is extremely important that students take the Performance Test. Failure to do so will jeopardize their success in passing the Regents Earth Science exam.

This Earth Science Laboratory Performance Test (Part D) of the Physical Setting/Earth Science Regents exam will be administered at William Floyd High School on:

Students must sign up for one testing appointment (there are three slots - 8 am, 9 am and 10 am), which will last one hour each. In order to sign-up, please respond to a message you should have already received using the e-mail, text message or push notification system. These notifications may reference ParentSquare. Time slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Capacity is limited, and we are unable to add students to any time slots that are full. The sooner you sign up, the better.

Parents are encouraged to arrange their own transportation as each timeslot only lasts one hour.
