The Parkway Power Bowl is an intra-division matchup pitting the two rivals connected by William Floyd Parkway and served by the Suffolk County Police Department. While this yearly contest includes bragging rights and the opportunity to have their team’s name and score affixed to the trophy that is housed in the winner’s school each year, it is an important game to determine playoff seeding. After securing their 10th consecutive victory in the Parkway Power Bowl, the Colonials now lead the series 12-2.

Before a capacity crowd at the Lincoln Avenue Sports Complex, officers from the Suffolk County Police Department started off the contest with the coin toss.

In the game, the Colonials and Lions were both held scoreless throughout much of the first half, with the only points coming from a Longwood field goal late in the second quarter which gave the Lions a 3-0 halftime lead. Starting with the ball in the third quarter, the Colonials struck back in a big way when Ja’Quan Thomas broke off a 72-yard touchdown run to make it a 7-3 game. William Floyd’s defense held this lead until the fourth quarter when Longwood completed a long touchdown drive to retake the lead.

However, the Colonials responded with a methodical offensive drive of their own which ended with Thomas’s second rushing touchdown of the game. Then, Aisays Wallace add a rushing touchdown of his own to make it a 21-10 game. The Lions gave the Colonials one last scare with a late fourth quarter touchdown and two-point conversion to make it a three-point game, but the Colonials hands team secured the onside kick attempt to cap off the winning effort! Thomas finished the game with 214 rushing yards on 18 carries and two touchdowns, while Wallace rushed for an additional 102 yards on nine carries and one touchdown. Wallace and Aidan Williams also recorded one quarterback sack each on defense.
