The 2026-2027 proposed budget includes a slight tax increase of just 0.99%, which is less than one percent and reflects the district's continued commitment to fiscal responsibility while offering students the best opportunities available.

This translates to approximately $48.29 per year or about $0.13 per day for the average assessed home in the community (1,995).

This plan maintains essential programs, strengthens academic opportunities, and invests in our schools - all while keeping the tax impact low on our community. This has been demonstrated year-after-year including recent zero percent proposals and two large reductions totaling more than $23 million over the past few years.

Two trustee seats are also up for re-election -- those currently held by Angelo Cassarino, who is running for re-election unopposed; and Robert Taiani, who is running for re-election and being challenged by Joseph Barone.

The annual budget hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, May 12 at 6:30 pm in the William Floyd High School library. The budget vote and trustee election is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, from 7 am to 9 pm in the William Floyd High School east lobby.
