At the October 29, 2024, regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting, the main topic was school safety and the installation of metal detectors at all designated entrances in schools K-12 (see previous updates on this subject here).

There were two presentations at this meeting - one each by Officer McVeigh of the Suffolk County Police Department Homeland Security Section, and Michael Stam, Director of Security, William Floyd School District.
