The deadline to sign up for the Summer Music Program has been extended to Friday, June 12! Please note that if the program does not meet the minimum enrollment of at least 75 students, the program will be canceled for this summer. Enrollment is currently at just 42 students. Please register today!

Please mail a check or money order payable to The William Floyd School District - $170 for William Floyd students and $200 for out-of-district students to: William Floyd School District Summer Music Program, 240 Mastic Beach Road, Mastic Beach, NY, 11951. 

Payment can also be dropped off to the Fine Arts office at William Floyd High School. 

Payment must be received no later than Thursday, June 18.

The Summer Music Program is self-sufficient and will run based on enrollment. If there aren't enough students signed up, the program will not happen. Please direct questions to Dr. Sckipp at asckipp@wfsd.k12.ny.us. 

Summer Music is back beginning on Monday, July 6 through Thursday, July 16! This program will allow students to continue their musical development beyond the school year. Students will learn and practice their skills in a small, relaxed setting.

Summer Music offers participation in the following categories:

• Juniors - Students who have completed grades 4, 5, or 6, and are in band, orchestra, and/or chorus during the school year.
• Seniors - Students who have completed grades 7, 8, 9, 10, or 11 and are in band, orchestra, and/or chorus during the school year.

Options include: 

• Chorus
• Band
• Orchestra
• Jazz Ensemble (Senior Group Only)
• Guitar (4th-12th Grade)
• Piano (4th-12th Grade)
• Ukulele (4th-12th Grade)
• Musical Theater

The student's choice should be based on their performing group during the 2025-26 school year.

The cost for the Summer Music Program is $170 for in-district students and $200 for out-of-district students.

Please note that transportation is NOT provided for this program.

Groups will meet for 3.5 hours per day Monday through Thursday (no classes on Fridays) for eight days beginning on Monday, July 6, 2026 through Thursday, July 16, 2026.

Important reminders:

• The program begins at 8:30 am. 
• Please use the east entrance of the William Floyd High School for entering the Music Suite by the auditorium.
• Students can begin to be picked up beginning at 12 pm in the high school south lot (12th grade cafeteria), separated alphabetically by last name. Identification will be required.
• There is NO bus transportation to or from Summer Music.

*** To be in chorus, band, and orchestra you must be enrolled in the school year program. All other courses are open enrollment.
