The Summer Music program will begin this Monday, July 8!

All pre-registered students and families are reminded:

• that the program begins at 8:30 am
• to please use the east entrance of William Floyd High School for entering the Music Suite by the auditorium.
• to drop children off at the the program no earlier than 8:20 am
• dress comfortably
• that breakfast and/or lunch will be provided (feel free to bring additional snacks/drinks)
• to have your child bring their own instrument since they are familiar with it. Larger instruments will be provided, as well as select smaller instruments.
• that there will be many musical opportunities in the program as well as team-building activities. Some of these activities may be held outside. Please provide sunscreen for your child if deemed necessary.
• that students can begin to be picked up beginning at 12 pm in the high school auditorium, separated alphabetically by last name. 
• that identification will be required at pick-up.
• that there is NO bus transportation to or from Summer Music. 
• to please inform us if you are allowing your child to have alternate arrangements for departure (i.e., walking, sibling pickup, etc.)

Summer Music will allow students to continue their musical development beyond the school year. Students will learn and practice their skills in a small, relaxed setting. There is no cost for students participating in the Summer Music program. Please note that transportation is not available.

Summer Music offers participation in the following categories: 

Junior - Students who have completed grades 4, 5, or 6, and are in band, orchestra, and/or chorus during the school year. 

Senior - Students who have completed grades 7, 8, 9, 10, or 11 and are in band, orchestra, and/or chorus during the school year.

Options:

❖ Jazz Ensemble (Senior Group Only) 
❖ Guitar (4th-12th Grade) 
❖ Piano (4th-12th Grade) 
❖ Ukulele (4th-12th Grade) 
❖ Musical Theater 

The student's choice should be based on their performing group during the 2023-24 school year. There is no cost for students participating in the Summer Music Program. Please note that there is no transportation to this program.

All groups will meet for 3.5 hours per day Monday through Thursday (no classes on Fridays) for 12 days

*** To be in chorus, band, and orchestra you must be enrolled in the school year program. All other courses are open enrollment.
