Dave Greco

William Floyd Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, Dave Greco, Class of 1974, was a three-sport athlete for the Colonials cross-country, winter and spring track teams. He was a five-year varsity member and was instrumental in leading the cross-country team to its first two state championships (1972 and 1973) in the program’s history. He was also successful in the classroom, graduating in the top 10 of his class and serving as a member of the school band.

Dave’s teams improved each year, placing sixth in the state championships in 1970, second in 1971 before winning back-to-back state titles in 1972 and 1973. He was also a member of the 1974 county championship two-mile relay team, setting a program record of 7:56 that still stands today. Dave was also league champion in the mile during the 1974 spring season.

Dave, who passed away at the age of 65 in 2021, was married to his high school sweetheart, Cheryl (Riker), Class of 1976, for 43 years. Together they have three children and eight grandchildren. Dave served as a minister with the Assemblies of God churches since 1979, serving as a youth pastor, senior pastor, New Jersey State youth director, missionary to Mexico, and most recently the Assemblies of God World Missions national liaison to multi-ethnic and language districts.
