A total of 124 William Floyd student-musicians from grades 5-10 were selected by the Suffolk County Music Educators Association (SCMEA) for All-County honors, shattering the previous record of 91 student-musicians that were chosen for this honor last school year!

This has been a banner year for the William Floyd School District’s music program, as this is just one of many honors that student-musicians from across the district have received. Earlier in the year, 28 juniors and seniors were selected for the New York State Council of Administrators for Music Education (NYSCAME) All-County Music Festival and 18 fourth graders were selected for the SCMEA PEAK Festival. Additionally, 14 students were selected for the Long Island String Festival Association (LISFA) All-County honors, 12 students were chosen for New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State honors, three students were selected for SCMEA All-County Jazz honors and two students were chosen for All-Eastern Music Honors.

In total, more than 200 William Floyd student-musicians received recognition for their hard work and were invited to share their musical prowess in various ensembles!
