William Floyd Alumni Association

Welcome to the new online home of the William Floyd Alumni Association! Please note that the William Floyd Alumni Association is separate from the William Floyd School District and has its own 501 (c)(3).
Mission and Purpose
The purpose of the organization is to promote the education of the students of the William Floyd School District and to provide a conduit through which alumni may direct their charitable activities in support of their school community and its students. We also strive to assist low-income students by providing charitable relief to those within the district who may be in need. Charitable endeavors are made possible through William Floyd Alumni Association fundraising and other revenue-producing activities as allowed under Section 402 of the Not-for-Profit Corporation Law of the State of New York and the IRS 501(c)(3) code, through material support, while showing, through the accomplishments of alumni and their peers, their own possibilities and potential for accomplishment, leading to positive growth in the community as a whole.
We also seek to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of William Floyd students through scholarships, and of William Floyd alumni through the Distinguished Alumni Award program (more information below). Scholarships and charitable support are made possible as a result of generous donors through the permissible activities of the William Floyd Alumni Association. The William Floyd Alumni Association also recognizes top educators through the Outstanding Educator Awards program (more information below). The William Floyd Alumni Association, in partnership with the William Floyd School District, was instrumental in bringing the Armed Forces Memorial to our community, honoring William Floyd alumni who paid the ultimate sacrifice in service of our great nation. The Alumni Association, in collaboration with the district, constructed and dedicated the Armed Forces Memorial. Each Memorial Day and Pearl Harbor Day, the district and the Alumni Association place a wreath at the site.
The William Floyd Alumni Association expects that while the charitable and educational activities of the association will enhance the well-being, good will, and reputation, within and among the William Floyd community and alumni, they will also serve to foster a renewed camaraderie between and among the William Floyd alumni and with our school community.
Who Are We?
We are a group of former classmates dedicated to serving their school community as a means of appreciation for the opportunities that their experience as Floyd students has provided for them, and to contribute in furthering the success of the current students and the community.
Several committees exist within the WFAA, including: the Distinguished Alumni Awards, Outstanding Educator Awards, Bylaws, Fundraising, Outreach, Scholarships, Author/Illustrator events and more!
