The department supports the needs of the William Floyd school community in myriad ways, including through the maintenance of existing hardware and by embracing new ways to enhance and deliver 21st century learning into our classrooms.

The William Floyd Board of Education recently held its annual reorganization meeting for the 2025-26 school year, in which newly re-elected trustees April Coppola, Lorraine Mentz and Luis J. Soto took the oath of office for the start of their new three-year terms. This year’s reorganization meeting also featured the appointment of the district’s inaugural group of student Board of Education members.

The William Floyd School District Districtwide Safety Plan, as required by the Project SAVE Law (Safe Schools Against Violence in Education: Commissioner of Education Regulation 155.17) has been established to provide for the safety, health and security of students, faculty and staff and allows for input from the various employee groups, the Suffolk County Police Department, the Office of Homeland Security and the Mastic, Mastic Beach, Brookhaven and Center Moriches fire departments.
