The department supports the needs of the William Floyd school community in myriad ways, including through the maintenance of existing hardware and by embracing new ways to enhance and deliver 21st century learning into our classrooms.

Nathaniel Woodhull Elementary School students from Michael Murphy’s fourth-grade class and Dina Matty’s third-grade class recently participated in the Send a Kid Fishing program, a fun and educational trip on the “Rosie,” a charter out of Center Moriches. The mission of this project is to expose and educate the future generations about the world of fishing and conservation and to have a little fun in the process!

William Floyd High School student Julia Abbaticchio recently received the New York State Retired School Administrators and Supervisors  Citizenship Award for demonstrating the qualities of civic responsibility, concern for others and participation in the enhancement of school and community relationships!
