Welcome to the central registration home page
The Universal Prekindergarten Program is for four year olds residing in the district. Classes are held at local preschools and in our elementary schools. All of the UPK teachers are fully certified and the curriculum is approved by the state. For more information on our universal Pre-Kindergarten program, please CLICK HERE
Incoming kindergartners must be five years of age on or before December 1, 2021 in order to register for the 2021-2022 school year. If your child is already registered in a William Floyd UPK or special education Pre-K program, you do not need to register.
Please call the Central Registration office at 874-1170 if you would like to check your child’s kindergarten enrollment status.
Kindergarten registration for the 2021-2022 school year will begin on Tuesday, January 19th, 2021. Registrations will be completed in the order in which they are received.
This year, due to the pandemic, registrations will be done with an email exchange of paperwork and a phone appointment. Please email email@example.com with KINDERGARTEN 2021 in the subject line.
Please include the following information in your email:
Child’s name and birthdate
The best phone number to reach you
Your email address
Copy of your photo ID
Upon receipt of your email, a registrar will reach out to you to initiate the registration process. At the time of registration, parents or legal guardians must present proof of William Floyd School District residency, their child’s original birth certificate, and proof of immunizations.
All incoming kindergarten students must provide proof of vaccinations against Diphtheria/Tetanus/Pertussis (5 or 4 doses, depending on age of administration), Polio (4 or 3 doses, depending on age of administration), Measles/Mumps/Rubella (2 doses), Hepatitis B (3 doses), and Varicella (2 doses). All immunization records must be signed and stamped by the student’s healthcare provider.
On this page you will find information on how to handle your central registration matters this summer. Our procedures have changed due to the pandemic. Below please find information on how to accomplish the most common central registration tasks.
To register your child for the upcoming school year: We are conducting contactless registrations at this time. Your registration will consist of a phone appointment and an email exchange of paperwork. To initiate new registrations for the 2020-2021 school year, please email
CentralRegistration@wfsd.k12.ny.us with the following information:
- Your name
- Your child's name
- Your email address
- The best phone number to reach you
A Central Registration staff member will contact you to begin the registration process.
To register for UPK, please complete the UPK application, then follow the directions for registration when you have received your acceptance letter from the UPK Office.
To withdraw your child from the district, please contact your child’s school building.* (For all elementary and middle schools).
*For high school or out of district placements (i.e. BOCES) please email CentralRegistration@wfsd.k12.ny.us
For address changes within the district, please email CentralRegistration@wfsd.k12.ny.us with your photo ID, child’s name, and proof of new address. Please refer to this chart for examples of proof of residency.
To request an enrollment verification letter or housing form, please click here and complete the request form. Enrollment letters will be mailed to you, CDC forms will be mailed directly to CDC.

HELPFUL TIPS FOR NEW REGISTRANTS
Registering in a new school district can be an overwhelming task. Here at William Floyd, we hope to make it a pleasant experience as we welcome you to our district. Below please find some tips to help make your registration process as smooth as possible:
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Please read the website information thoroughly to learn what you will need to bring with you. This will help you to have all the necessary documents with you the first time and eliminate any “running around” or second trips back to the office.
CHECK THE DATES ON ALL YOUR DOCUMENTS
Are your utility bills current? Please be sure to bring bills that are within the last 30 days. We cannot accept outdated documents.
BRING DOCUMENTS THAT ARE ORIGINAL – LEGIBLE AND COMPLETE
Please do not bring photocopies or documents that have white out, words crossed out or written over. We cannot accept any documents that have been altered.
