Fine Arts

Welcome to the William Floyd Fine Arts Department homepage. All students are encouraged to express themselves creatively as their talents are discovered and nurtured. The opportunities made available to students in the Art, Music, Theater, and Dance programs are due to the hard work of a dedicated staff and the support of our community and district. The excellence achieved by students within the Fine Arts program is a testament of that support.

distance learning - photo of a laptop with books next to it in front of a bookcase

As a result of the feedback of the parent survey on re-opening schools, the William Floyd School District will now be offering a remote option for those who do not feel comfortable sending their children to school and/or with high-risk family members in their household. This addition to the hybrid plan will assist with social distancing in schools and on the buses.

At this time, the William Floyd School District is faced with the monumental task of educating 9,000 students with ensuring the safety of all. This necessitates that for Stage 1 (September through November) we will employ a hybrid model of instruction, which means that students will be educated in our buildings two days per week, and will receive virtual instruction three days per week, to ensure social distancing. This model will be reassessed throughout the year based on guidance from the New York State Department of Education, Centers for Disease Control and the NYS Department of Health. We ask that you take a few minutes to complete this short survey to help us plan and utilize our resources in the most effective way. This survey will be open until Friday, August 7 at 5 pm.
