Mrs. Haakonson’s 4th grade students are currently working as Kidsday reporters to produce a holiday gift buying guide to be published in Newsday during the week of December 12-17. Each student has been given two to three brand new toys to be tried, tested, and honestly reviewed. Reviews will include the name and manufacturer of the toy, what the toy does, their rating (on a scale of 1-5) of the toy with a description of why they chose that rating, and the appropriate age group for the toys. Some of the toys that are currently being tested are board games, card games, computers, dolls, Leggos, Wii and Xbox games, racetracks, a crayon maker, a skateboard, a bakery, and a silkscreen set. The students have received “official” Press Passes from Kidsday and are extremely excited to be a part of this opportunity.
