Our Welcome Video
All of the ESL students recorded greetings, such as “hello,” “welcome,” and “how are you?” The flags represent the William Floyd Elementary students’ home countries as well as the teachers.
Symbols of the Olympics
1st and 2nd Grade ESL Students learned about symbols of the Olympics. They made the symbols, like the olive branch crowns and torches. In the video, the students shared what they learned.
3rd Grade ESL Students at WFE learned facts about Canada, where this year’s Winter Olympics took place. They found information about the land and people, holidays, things to see and do, and the city of Vancouver.
Here are 1st and 2nd Grade ESL Students working on creating their own torches. They learned that every Olympic Game has its own torch. Each torch has something that represents them as individuals (family, favorite things, etc.).
4th Grade ESL Students at WFE researched Winter Olympic Sports as well as current Team USA Athletes. They presented their information to their classes.
