William Floyd School District is home to eight nationally recognized, state-of-the-art multi-resource libraries designed to meet the needs of our students, parents, teachers and staff. The libraries are nurturing, learner-centered environments where a love of reading and learning is cultivated.  Our extensive book, magazine, audio and DVD/video collections, in addition to our innovative technology, support students’ academic, reference, and outside reading needs and requirements for all k-12 subject areas. Furthermore, highly-trained librarians work in partnership with all teachers to develop engaging, meaningful projects and presentations for students. These include online WebQuests, multimedia scrapbooks, desktop publishing assignments, scavenger hunts, biography studies, picture book lessons and book talks.
Mastics Moriches Shirley Community Library provides free live study help with certified teachers and tutors online everyday from 2 pm- 10 pm. All district residents can use the service, you must login with your public library card. Services include expert tutors for subjects in grades K – 12th, plus introductory college level courses, and a writing lab. Bilingual help in Spanish is available for all levels.
