The William Floyd Robotics Team #287 recently competed at the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition in Science and Technology) Hudson Valley Regional in Suffern, NY, against 47 other talented robotics teams consisting of more than 1,000 students from the United States, the United Kingdom and Turkey! Team 287 “Floyd Robotics” performed well and secured regional finalist status! This competition also served as a tune-up for this weekend’s upcoming Long Island Regional FIRST Robotics Competition scheduled to be held at Hofstra University!

Three members of the William Floyd school community have been selected as 2024 SCOPE Education Services “Shining Stars” and will be honored at the organization’s 23rd annual awards dinner scheduled for Monday, March 18! These three individuals – Dr. Malasia Walker, Director of Special Education; Michele Manion, Assistant Director of Special Education (secondary); and Ravi Seeram, Assistant Director of Special Education (elementary) – have been selected for exemplary service to education and the William Floyd School District.
