Estevan Rosario, a fifth-grade student at Tangier Smith Elementary School, is the William Floyd School District artist of the month for June.
Estevan has worked many hours on mastering his drawing skills during Deborah Zorn’s art class as well as at home in his free time. He enjoys drawing with pencil and prefers to draw in black and white as opposed to color. Estevan is inspired by early Mickey Mouse drawings and other cartoons from that era. His drawings are mostly two-dimensional; however, he likes to draw other subjects as well. His favorite lesson this year has been perspective city drawings.
Estevan has already set goals for his future – he would like to attend college and study art, particularly graphic design or art education, in New York City.
“I know he will be successful in his creative endeavors because he has shown his drive for the arts to be his true passion,” said Ms. Zorn.
