When will the graduation ceremony begin and where will it be held?
The 2019 graduation ceremony will begin at 10 am on Saturday, June 29. The ceremony will take place in its usual location on the field to the west of the high school behind Nathaniel Woodhull Elementary School. (Graduates should arrive by 9 am – please refer to the Graduation Checklist & Guidelines for additional information for students).
What will happen in the event of inclement weather?
Should adverse weather conditions occur on Saturday, June 29, the ceremony will be postponed until Sunday morning, June 30 at 10 am. If there is inclement weather again on Sunday, then the ceremony will be postponed until Monday, July 1 at 5 pm.
How will I be notified in the event of a postponement due to inclement weather?
If a decision is made to postpone, an announcement will be made via an automated phone call and messages on the district website and social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram). If a decision to postpone commencement due to the weather occurs, please expect an announcement by no later than 8 am during the morning of the ceremony.
Where should I park?
As nearby lots fill up quickly, students and their families are encouraged to park in the lot on the south side of the high school. Shuttle buses will be available to transport spectators to the athletic field.
Do I need tickets to attend the graduation ceremony?
Families do not need tickets to attend the graduation ceremony. Graduates will be given two souvenir tickets as keepsakes. Seating is first-come, first-served.
Will graduation be livestreamed for those unable to attend?
Yes, the ceremony will be livestreamed on the William Floyd School District Facebook page (www.facebook.com/williamfloydschooldistrict). It will also remain on the Facebook page after the ceremony for viewing and be uploaded to the district YouTube page and posted to the district website (www.wfsdk12.ny.us) within subsequent days for those who do not have a Facebook account. The livestreaming will begin promptly at 10 am.
