William Floyd High School senior Kaylah Britt, a student-athlete who has excelled as a member of the girls’ varsity track team, recently qualified for the upcoming 2019 Indoor Track & Field State Championships with a triple jump of 38’ 7”, a personal and William Floyd High School record. She will now look to take home the state title at the Ocean Breeze Track & Field Athletic Complex on March 2. Kaylah and the girls’ varsity track team are coached by John Ryan.
Kaylah has enjoyed an amazing career at William Floyd as a girls’ varsity track athlete. In addition to setting the school record for triple jump, she began the season as the No. 1 ranked triple jumper in Suffolk County and was named one of the “Top 25 Girls’ Indoor Track Athletes to Watch” for 2018-19 by Newsday. She has earned numerous accolades throughout her high school career including All-County, All-Long Island and All-State as a junior and secured a third-place finish in the triple jump at last year’s state championship. She was also part of the record-setting 4 x 200 meter relay team along with Kianna Hawkins, Antoinette Miller and Jade Foster, that won the state crown last March.
Best of luck to Kaylah as she goes for the state title in the triple jump!
