Moriches Elementary School recently concluded an October tradition, art teacher Linda Tucci’s 39th annual “Great Pumpkin Contest” in which students and their families decorate, carve and sculpt original pumpkins with the help of their families to be judged by 15 faculty and staff judges. Six winners were selected in total with Ms. Tucci supplying each one with a certificate, a ribbon and a book prize.
“I would like to thank all the students and their families for making this such a festive and creative event,” said Ms. Tucci, adding that all of the pumpkins were beautiful and showcased the hard work, thought and effort that went into each creation. Ms. Tucci is also eagerly anticipating next year’s contest, which will be the 40th in a long and beloved tradition for Moriches Elementary School students and their families.
