I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving break with family and friends. In education, we are thankful for the opportunity to impact young lives. Our students are the reason we’re here. Their learning and personal growth is the school’s mission.
December will be an exciting and activity-filled month in Floyd Academy. Our advisory groups have begun to “Deck the Halls” and we are in the process of planning a dessert party on December 22nd for the Mid-Winter Break Celebration.
In addition to all of the fun and entertaining activities taking place, December is also an important month academically. The bulk of the second marking period takes place during December. It is important that our students remain focused and disciplined in their work and study habits amidst all of the seasonal distractions and celebrations. I am very pleased with the behavior and work ethic of our students this school year.
December will be a short month here at school, but not without excitement. Here is a list of upcoming events:
- December 14th – SCCC onsite admission
- December 22th – Winter Break Celebration (in school)
- December 22th – Second Quarter Progress Reports Posted to Portal
- Dec 22nd to January 1st – Winter Recess ‐ School Resumes on Monday, January 2 ,2018
