The William Floyd Board of Education is requesting résumés to fill an upcoming vacancy due to Trustee Anthony Speruta’s resignation effective close of business on June 30, 2017. Mr. Speruta, who has served the district and community faithfully since 2010, is moving out of state.
The Board of Education requests that interested parties email a résumé and cover letter by the close of business on Monday, June 19, 2017 to: Robert Vecchio, BOE President, at firstname.lastname@example.org and Mary Sidaras, BOE secretary at email@example.com. Potential candidates should explain why he or she would be an asset to the William Floyd Board of Education. It is anticipated that the chosen candidate will be appointed and sworn in at the re-organizational meeting in July. Serving as a trustee for the Board of Education is a volunteer position.
In order to serve on the Board of Education, applicants must be: a U.S. citizen at least 18 years of age; not employed by William Floyd schools; a qualified voter/resident of the William Floyd School District for a period of one year immediately preceding the date of appointment; and cannot reside in the same household with another Board member as a member of the same family.
