To the Parents/Guardians of Floyd Academy Students:
I hope you enjoyed the summer break and are looking forward to a productive and enriching school year. As you are aware, this is the inaugural year for the Floyd Academy. I would like to first congratulate you and your child on his/her acceptance into the program. Participation in the Floyd Academy is a privilege, and, due to overwhelming interest and limited capacity, we have a list of students waiting to for acceptance. The program was designed to help your child succeed, and we look forward to your input and cooperation as we progress. The district and community have shown overwhelming support for this program, and we need your assistance to ensure that it is successful.
Orientation for all Floyd Academy students will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016, from 12-4:30 pm. Attendance is mandatory. Student attendance at this orientation session is an indicator of their eagerness to become a member of the Floyd Academy and expresses a clear dedication to work toward graduation. The orientation will begin with lunch in the cafeteria (room 216), followed by a presentation. After the presentation, students will follow a truncated schedule to meet their teachers.
Transportation will be provided; please report to your bus stop 30-45 minutes before the start of school (approximately 11:15 am).
I am excited about the opportunity to work with you and the students to achieve their goals. I know that, working together, we will ensure the success of Floyd Academy students. On behalf of the Floyd Academy family, I would like to thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing your child on September 1.
Sincerely,
John DeBenedetto
