Kindergarten students at John S. Hobart Elementary School recently welcomed Ronald McDonald for an assembly focused on helping to lift children’s spirits and raise the expectations of themselves in a program called “You’re the Star.”
Through the use of magic and music, students learned about the importance of reading, having good personal character and self-esteem, as well as being active in their lives. Ronald used both student and teacher helpers for his skits. Among the show’s many inspirational messages were that “everyone is special and unique,” “it’s okay to be different,” “if you believe in yourself, you can do most anything,” and “think what can be accomplished if we all work together.”
